EducationWayne State University: current senior; major: Elementary Education with a Major in Integrated Science; Oakland Community College: graduate; Degree: Associates in Liberal Arts
ExperienceI am Samantha, majoring in Elementary Education with a focus in science at Wayne State University. I have a passion for teaching and tutoring that was cultivated when I began working within the field of education over six years ago and that passion remains strong in me today. Classmates and friends that I have tutored would frequently say "I understand this when you explain it, better than when the teacher explains it or how it is explained in the book!" I have taken and received high grades in each class that contains the subject matter which I tutor and these classes include:
-Introduction to College Writing/Composition 1
-US History (to 1877)
-English as a Second Language (ESL)
-Ancient History (Civilization to 1500 AD)
-Sociology I (Introduction to Sociology)
Teacher Education classes (for EDUCATION MAJORS ONLY):
-Physical Science for Elementary and Middle School Teachers
-Biology for Elementary and Middle School Teachers
-Computer Applications for Teaching 1
-Becoming a Professional Educator
-Multicultural Education: Urban America
-Kindergarten-8th grade (ALL SUBJECTS)
I currently have a 3.63 cumulative GPA and I have made the Dean's List multiple times, since my college career began. I understand the hard work it takes to succeed in school. I value effort, consistency and commitment. I will work hard and be committed to working with you, no matter what kind of student you are; whether you are a student searching for tutoring for yourself or if you are a parent searching for a tutor for your child, I will give you my best!
I look forward to hearing from you!
