Brandon G.
Private tutor in Sterling Heights, MI
Education
I graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Class of 2004, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in German Studies and Philosophy. I also graduated Magna Cum Laude; my final GPA overall and in both of my concentrations was 3.7. After that, I began studying stenography at the Academy of Court Reporting in Clawson, MI. However, due to a wrist injury and getting a good job offer overseas, I was unable to complete my certification.
Experience
I taught in South Korean EFL/ESL classrooms full time for seven years. I also worked as a math and English tutor in college for two years. I am currently tutoring Japanese students. I took the GRE two times a long time ago, but my retake verbal score was 680, which is very high. I also studied at the University of Freiburg (Germany) as an exchange student for one year, so I understand learning a language in depth. I also received several scholarships from the German department at U of M (Max Kade scholarship and an award for having the best final project in German 3. My wife is Korean, and we speak Korean at home.

Hobbies
I am an avid musician. I like rock and electronic styles and own several synthesizers and a guitar. I will likely buy more as I build my clientele, because that is my main hobby. I also generally keep up with WWE and occasionally UFC. Other sports are entertaining, but I'll admit that I only really pay attention around championship time. I also enjoy studying German and Korean. I'm about to start looking into Japanese, as that is the native language of most of my current students. Oh, and I can play a mean game of chess. However, I have met people who can beat me.
